Browser Issues

"A co-worker and I went to the same website, but I’m seeing a different page or picture than they are seeing. Why is that?"

The Issue: It sounds like a problem with the cache. One user is looking at the cached (or previously stored) version of this website, and the other is looking at a newest version of the website.

When you go a website your browser keeps a "copy" of the website in its memory. If you revisit a website you’ve already been to (on that computer or in the same browser session), your browser will display that cached version.

The Fix: With your web browser open, in the Menu bar area, click on the Tools drop down box, select Internet Options, and on the General Tab, click on the Delete button in the Browsing History section. Delete the first three options (Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History). Finally, open a new browser window and go to the website. You should see the changes take effect, and you’ll be viewing the most recent version of that site.

"I keep getting this message, 'Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close.' What should I do?"

The Issue: The browser settings may have been changed, and are now creating a problem.

The Fix: Restoring your browser settings will most likely fix this problem. To do this, go to your Tools drop down box, select Internet Options, and click on the Advanced tab. Click on the Reset button at the bottom of the window. This option deletes all temporary files, disables browser add-ons, and resets all the changed settings.
