Gearing up for a busy summer home selling season? This month's issue of the Tech Helpline newsletter can help keep your laptop running smoothly and, with the help of a mini mouse (no relation to Mickey), easier to use.

A lean, mean, computing machine
If you ignore your car, you'll eventually end up sitting alongside the road. Maybe it overheated; maybe a hose cracked; maybe a tire blew. A computer is no different. It may not have water, hoses or tires, but the daily grind causes problems -- problems that can be easily prevented with regular maintenance. The Tech Helpline staff has compiled the following checklist of maintenance activities. Follow them and your computer should do its job -- and yours -- without breaking down along the Internet highway.

Cool Tools:  Wireless optical mouse
Have mouse, will travel: It doesn't take a laptop computer owner long to forgo the tracking pad for a wireless optical mouse. One bout of sweaty fingers or a flaky cursor will frustrate even the most patient computer aficionado.

Now where did I see that before?
Today's software packages perform hundreds of functions and few users can keep up with the changes. Many Tech Helpline calls focus on Top Producer(R) and come from moderately-skilled users who just can't remember how to get from here to there -- they know Top Producer performs a function but forget how to access it. When that happens to you, whether it be in Top Producer, Microsoft Word, Power Point or any other program, call a Tech Helpline analyst.

Happy computing,

Your Tech Helpline Team
